NIH SciEd 2022

Kristin Bass and Alison Allen will be attending the NIH SciEd 2022 Annual Conference in Washington, DC on May 31st through June 3rd. Together, Kristin and Alison will be presenting at a concurrent breakout session called “Let’s party like it’s 2019! Broadening Participation through Data Parties on Wednesday, June 1st at 2:00 pm EST. In addition, Kristin will be co-presenting a concurrent breakout session with Renee Bayer “Professional Writing Groups: How to start and Maintain a Collaborative (and Fun) SciEd Writing Group to Support Project Dissemination on Thursday, June 2nd at 10:15 am EST. Alison will be co-presenting with Carmela Amato-Wierda and Amy Booth from the University of New Hampshire, “The NH CREATES Teachers Institute: A Model of Professional Development for Middle and High School STEM Teachers” on Thursday, June 2nd at 2:00 pm EST. Makers in the Library Collective Webinar

Meet Scott Burg virtually on Wednesday, April 27th from 12-1pm PST at the Makers in the Library Collective’s five-week webinar series. This week’s webinar theme is Reflect & Refine: Using Evaluation to Strengthen Programs and Scott will be giving a short presentation on how evaluation can improve DEI in makerspaces. American Educational Research Association (AERA) Annual Meeting

Camellia Sanford-Dolly and Adam Moylan will be virtually attending the American Educational Research Association’s 2022 Annual Meeting from April 21st-26th. Camellia will be presenting her paper, Leveraging Online Tools to Support Observational Fluency in Citizen Science: A Case Study of Macroinvertebrates.org, as part of a roundtable session, Informal Education Using Online and Hybrid Tools, in the SIG Virtual Rooms, SIG-Informal Learning Environment Research Virtual Roundtable Session Room on April 23rd from 11:00am to 12:30pm EDT.
