Education organizations are quickly adapting to school closures, distance learning, and remote work schedules. While school buildings are closed, many industries remain active. As the summer approaches, internship programs that prepare students for the workforce are shifting to accommodate job placements online when they cannot take place on-site.

On Wednesday, April 29, 2020, 3:00 – 4:30 PM PST, join a panel of educators and STEM industry partners discussing strategies to implement STEM internships while sheltering-in-place. The discussion will be moderated by the CEO of PilotCity and joined by representatives from Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Bayer, Biotech Partners, Typeform, and San Mateo County.

REA’s Alex Gurn will present with Biotech Partners on the opportunities and challenges of recreating laboratory-based experiences through digital internships.

The meeting is hosted by Alignment Bay Area, a group of education, industry, workforce development boards, and community-based organizations focusing on strategies that lead youth through college and to careers. Register in advance for this meeting.
