After nearly a year of sheltering in place, we’d like to thank the family members who have helped us adjust to working from home. These individuals have gotten us away from our computers by encouraging us to take walks, play games, and give head scritches and belly rubs. In this post, we celebrate our animal companions and occasional Zoombombers, Rockman’s Most Valuable Pets!
Orlando has been Kristin’s foster cat and shelter-in-place buddy since March. He’s a long-haired Siamese whose personality is as big as his voice. His hobbies include sleeping in sunbeams on the balcony, drinking from the watering can on the balcony, and interrupting meetings to request access to said balcony. Here he is wearing his Best Cheer Squad gold medal from the 2020 Rockman Olympics while relaxing on – where else – his balcony.
Whether it’s napping, talking, or telling you the workday is over, Bristol (dog) and Bella (cat) “love” having the entire Allen family home, all day, every day! Bristol thinks every workday should be filled with long naps under the desk (or on the couch), endless games of backyard fetch, and walking meetings at the park. While in the office, Bella enjoys walking across the keyboard, drinking from any open water glass and sleeping just out of view of virtual meetings. The duo agree that the workday should be over at 4:45pm so they can eat, play and take another nap before bedtime.
The menagerie in Camellia’s abode just got zanier. Riley (10 year-old dog) and Rhiannon (17 year-old cat) aren’t quite sure what to make of their new sister, Josie (1 year-old dog), but you can be sure that everyone is trying to grab some attention and snuggles throughout the workday. All three have made “guest” appearances during virtual meetings, and have trouble understanding why their mom stares at a screen all day instead of playing with them. They make every workday an adventure – and Camellia wouldn’t have it any other way.
