MIT App Inventor Summit
Alex Gurn will be conducting participant observations at the 2019 MIT App Inventor Summit from August 1st-3rd. This annual gathering of the App Inventor community, hosted by the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), brings together research scientists, formal and informal educators, computer scientists, tech leaders, and others. A highlight of the summit will be the recognition of the winners of the Youth Mobile Power App Inventor Challenge, run by MIT and YR Media (formerly Youth Radio).
Visitor Studies Association Conference
Meet Jennifer Borland and Camellia Sanford-Dolly in person at the annual Visitor Studies Association Conference in Detroit, MI from July 10th to 13th. Saul Rockman and Claire Quimby will be attending virtually.
Jennifer will be co-presenting “Adventures in Teen Evaluation” on Friday, July 12th at 3:15PM-4:30PM with Sara Davis and “Lenses on Learning: How study design shapes interpretation of results” on Saturday, July 13th at 9:45AM-11:00AM with Sasha Palmquist and Monae Verbeke.
Claire will be presenting at the poster session on Thursday, July 11th at 3:15PM-5:00PM on an evaluation studying the impact of digital interactives at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s innovative ARTLENS Gallery .
Camellia currently serves as VSA’s Vice-President of Professional Development.
