Dr. Kristin Bass is a co-author on two presentations at The ASTE Conference with the Genetic Science Learning Center: “Results From a Randomized Controlled Trial of an NGSS-Aligned High School Unit That Integrates Evolution and Heredity” and “High School Teachers’ Considerations, Benefits and Challenges in Classroom Pilot Testing 3d Curriculum Materials.”

The conference will be in Savannah, GA on January 3rd through the 5th of 2019.

Meet REA at Visitor Studies Association Annual Meeting

Jennifer Borland, Scott Burg, Claire Quimby, Saul Rockman, and Camellia Sanford-Dolly will be at the Visitor Studies Association’s Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL from July 19 to 21. If you are planning to attend, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Scott will be presenting in a session titled “Evaluation of Design Thinking in Museum Settings” on July 19 from 10:45 a.m. to noon. Jennifer will be co-presenting in a session titled “Talking About Teens: Evaluating Museum Programs that Target Teens” with Alison Mroczkowski and Preeti Gupta, on July 20 from 1:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Camellia will be presenting a poster titled “Features of Museum Outreach Activities That Can Support Children’s Interest in and Understanding of Scientific Practices and Careers” on July 19 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Camellia currently serves as VSA’s Vice President, Professional Development. REA at Teacher Quality Programs Summit

Jennifer Borland will be attending the Teacher Quality Programs Summit June 14th–15th in Washington, D.C. Hosted by the U.S. Department of Educations for PI’s and evaluators of TQP, SEED and other DOE-funded projects, Jennifer will be attending in her capacity as lead evaluator on Radford University’s Appalachian Support for Specialized Education Training (ASSET) program. This event is invitation-only, though if you will be attending please get in touch!
