STEM Tales is a new 2.5-year Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) project funded by the National Science Foundation. The project team, led by Twin Cities Public Television, will develop a new television series and library programming for 4-8 year-old children highlighting diverse STEM professionals reading STEM literature aloud. Rockman et al Cooperative will gather front-end and formative feedback from families and librarians to inform episode and activity development. REA plans to investigate how engagement with project resources impacts caregivers’ and librarians’ awareness of STEM professions and content, as well as their confidence in discussing STEM topics with children. Additional project partners include T2 Science and Math Education, American University’s School of Education, and the Space Science Institute.
