The National Science Foundation’s Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) program has announced its FY 2021 competition. ITEST is a research and development program that provides direct student learning opportunities to students in pre-Kindergarten through high school using innovative technology to “strengthen knowledge and interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and information and communication technology (ICT) careers.” Proposals for ITEST must be submitted by August 13th, 2021.
The National Science Foundation states the purpose of the ITEST program is to “engage students in technology-rich experiences that increases awareness and interest of STEM and ICT occupations, motivates students to pursue appropriated education pathways, and develop STEM-specific content knowledge and practices that promote critical thinking, reasoning and communication.” The ITEST program is seeking innovative instructional approaches and practices in formal and informal learning environments with strategic partnerships.
More information about the ITEST grant program and proposal requirements can be found on the STEM Learning and Research Center (STELAR) page and on the National Science Foundation’s program solicitation page. Rockman et al (REA) has designed and led seven external ITEST evaluations and is currently serving as the research partner on one project. Click here to find funded ITEST proposals.
