Safa is a Research Associate who has over 5 years of experience with evaluation and research training in both applied and academic settings. Prior to joining Rockman, she worked as a as Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she collaborated on mixed-methods research to promote positive parenting behaviors through at home play activities for infants and toddlers. During her time as Research Assistant at DePaul University, Safa collaborated on various mixed-methods projects which include research with college students and their experiences with school-based mentors and educational programming, a nationwide study on teacher directed violence, and experiences of high school girls of color in science classrooms. Safa also has extensive experience as an evaluation consultant including her work with refugee serving organizations and communities to assess needs, challenges and barriers. Safa earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Master’s degree and Doctorate in Community Psychology from DePaul University. When she isn’t working, Safa enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the wonderful city of Chicago, and binging Netflix.
