Research Associate in Bloomington, IN or San Francisco, CA.

Qualifications: The following are attributes that will strengthen an application for this position. These are not absolute requirements.
--Ph.D. in education, psychology, sociology, or related disciplines
--3-5 years of experience with quantitative research design methods (including randomized control trials and regression discontinuity designs)
--
Expertise in quantitative methods, including descriptive and exploratory statistics, analysis of variance, regression models (linear and logistic), power analysis, hierarchical linear modeling, longitudinal data analysis, and basic item analysis and scale development
--
3-5 years experience conducting program evaluation and managing research studies, preferably in educational or nonprofit settings
--
Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet clients’ needs and deadlines
--
Proficient to expert computer skills: Word, EXCEL, SPSS, HLM
--
Publications or equivalent experience in areas such as formal and informal education, school reform, technology innovation, learning in virtual environments, community and organizational change, public health, arts and humanities, and youth development
--Successful experience writing grants and responding to RFPs for research and evaluation contracts
--Bilingual applicants with Spanish language skills desirable
Key Job Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate research and evaluation activities
--
Design research studies
--
Create evaluation plans and logic models
-- Design data collection strategies and instruments

Develop work plans, timetables, and budgets
--
Request, manage, and analyze large data sets (e.g., school and state-level assessment data, census data)

Write research proposals in response to RFPs
--
Maintain client relations
--
Conduct field research (e.g., conduct interviews, observations, focus groups)
--
Travel for data collection and meetings with clients
--
Analyze quantitative data and coordinate quantitative and qualitative data analyses
--
Write reports and present findings to clients
--
Provide technical assistance and professional development to company staff in the area of quantitative research design and analysis
--
Publish research and evaluation findings; present at national conferences or other dissemination forums
--Contribute to proposal and business development efforts through networking, responding to RFPs and grants, and soliciting new business
